​​COSPLAY GUIDELINES
** PROPS **
• NO REAL WEAPONS. This includes real firearms, functional bows, metal swords, knives, axes, or any other live blades.
• NO SHARPENED METAL. All bladed props must be made from foam, wood, plastic, or similarly safe materials.
• PROP GUNS MUST BE INSPECTED. Staff may inspect and tag your prop at entry. Unchecked props are not allowed inside.
• NO PROJECTILE WEAPONS. No firing projectiles of any kind — including airsoft, Nerf, paintball, arrows, or liquids.
• NO REALISTIC FIREARM REPLICAS. If your prop looks too realistic, it may be refused at staff discretion. Use bright safety tips or colored tape for clarity.

** COSPLAY CONDUCT **
• KEEP IT PG-13. Should be appropriate for anyone.
• NO HATE SYMBOLS. (Duh) Anything promoting discrimination or harassment will result in removal.
• RESPECT OTHERS. Don’t touch or photograph anyone without consent — Cosplay is not consent

** WHAT **
The contest where everyone belongs! Show us your love of fandom and bring your favorite characters to life. For contestants of all ages, veterans and newcomers alike! Costumes of any genre from comics and movies to gaming, anime, sci-fi are all welcome!

** CONTESTS **
KIDS (AGE 0-13)
Any cosplay can entered in the kids contest. Judging is based on overall appearance of the costume and stage presence/acting in character. We want to see kids having fun onstage and getting into the spirit of cosplay and fandom.
ADULTS (AGE 14 & UP)​
CATEGORIES:
COSPLAY SHOWCASE
Any cosplay can be entered in the showcase. Judging is based on overall appearance of the costume and stage presence/acting in character. Goal is to embody the SPIRIT of the character and bring that to the stage.

COSPLAY CRAFTSMANSHIP
Open to handmade cosplays only. Store bought and commissioned costumes will not be permitted. Judging is based on overall craftsmanship and techniques used in construction. Contestants in this category must attend a scheduled prejudging session prior to the stage competition. It is recommended that the costume be at least 70% handmade or altered by the contestant. Entries are permitted to use a model to display the costume they created, but the creator themselves is considered to be the contestant and must be present for judging and to accept awards.

Individual prizes as well as 1st place Group will be awarded in each category.
Stellar Con Cosplay Champion our “Best in Show”- One contestant with the highest score between the cosplay showcase and cosplay craftsmanship categories will be crowned “Stellar Con Champion”.
​​RULES
• Costumes that have already won major awards (1st Place, Best in Show) at any other Convention or cosplay Competition are not allowed. We want to give new cosplays their chance to shine. If you are unsure of your eligibility or what counts as a major award, please feel free to ask.
• Race, ethnicity, age, body-type, gender, sexual orientation, disability, etc. will HAVE NO EFFECT on scoring or be considered in accuracy of the costume.
• Harassment or bullying of any kind will not be tolerated and will result in disqualification.
• Judge’s decisions are final.
• Stellar con staff and guests are not permitted to enter the competition.
